Lead Elder / Ordained minister in the Church of the Brethren
Mike serves as Lead Elder for New Beginnings. He was born again at age 25 and has led a committed Christian life ever since. He is married to Lu Ann and has two married sons. Mike is a retired as an art teacher from Hempfield High School and currently coaches track for Manheim Central High School. Mike also volunteers for Life Cycles, a bicycle ministry to teenage boys and also volunteers at Teen Central in Manheim.

Barry serves as an Elder for New Beginnings. He is a life-long member of the Church of the Brethren. Barry has also had a life-long commitment to the Lord and has a heart for service and encouraging others in their faith walk. He is a farmer, enjoys working the land and tending to livestock. He is married to Colleen, has four married children and ten grandchildren.

Scott serves as an Elder for New Beginnings. He also works with the youth in middle and high school, organizing Bible studies and activities. He is married to Judy, and has three adult children; Charis, Heather and Josh. Scott enjoys serving the local community where he works at Hosler’s Hardware in Elstonville. He became a Christian at age 12 and has led a committed life, willing to go where God calls, which has included volunteer work in Kentucky and Illinois.

Ordained minister in the Church of the Brethren
Glenn serves New Beginnings as a minister and serves in various roles in the Atlantic NE District of the Church of the Brethren. He is self-employed in the field of Home Repair and also serves on the School Board of the Ephrata School District. He is married to Joann and enjoys his adult children and grandchildren. Glenn has a heart for service and joys reaching out to his community.

Lu Ann Wise
Lu Ann serves New Beginnings in the area of Children’s Ministry. She teaches Children’s Church and Sunday School. She is married to Mike and has two married sons. She is a Health and Physical Education Teacher in the Manheim Central School District. She is also a speaker at various Women’s Events in the area.
Fanny also serves New Beginnings by teaching the Children. Fanny became a Christian as an adult and has had a heart to impart God’s Word and truth to children and adults alike. She is married to Chris and they have two adult daughters. She works at Eastern Alliance Insurance as Assistant Controller.
Shawn and Laura Haldeman
Laura and Shawn serve as Worship Leaders for the Praise Team. They both have a heart for worship and enjoy serving New Beginnings in this capacity. Laura plays both keyboard and violin and Shawn plays guitar. They have three children and live on a farm in Penryn, raising both quail and hogs.
